Paracheirodon innesi
The neon tetra is one of the most popular freshwater aquarium fish. Wild fish are native to blackwater and clearwater streams in the Amazon basin. They are peaceful mid-water schoolers; keep at least six (preferably ten or more) for natural behaviour and less stress. Mature fish show a bright blue lateral stripe and red on the lower half of the body. They accept standard flake and micro-pellet foods; supplement with small frozen foods such as daphnia or brine shrimp.
High-quality flake or micro pellets; supplement with frozen or live foods in small sizes (daphnia, brine shrimp nauplii).
